In chapter two David describes the "good times" he had with his family. He described his family as the Brady Bunch. He was saying how surprisingly wonderful his childhood used to be. David's house was like a normal house with pets and a loving mother. He described how his mother used to go all out for the holidays. She decorated the house and gave presents and told stories to her three sons and her husband. David's mother would take her family out on day trips and go out for picnics here and there. Every summer she would plan an amazing vacation with her family. She would make her kids life an adventure and make her children life magical.

When he said this it made me think of a happy time.
Why did he talk about the good times they used to have?
David's favorite place was the Russian River.
David was fascinated by the vineyards on the car rides.
